DRUG VIOLENCE
The Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne now has a special room for violent children who are affected by drugs.
The two most likely illicit drugs to cause violence in children are ICE and SPEED.
A leading drug counselor claims that ICE is the most destructive drug now in circulation.
Users are very aggressive both physically and verbally with hospital staff and paramedics attacked by both ICE and SPEED users.
Users are dysfunctional and psychotic exhibiting very violent behavior.
The St. Vincents hospital in Melbourne opened a similar room in 2002.
According to a recent survey one in five patients placed in the room are affected by drugs.

The Drug Advisory Council of Australia Comments
Both ICE and SPEED are the current drugs of choice for the club and pub scene in Australia.
Now that children are now being violently impacted by illicit club drugs detoxification has to include segregation rooms to protect health workers and other patients.
We need comprehensive and interlocked detoxification and rehabilitation programs that get users off drugs quickly and permanently.
Children clearly do not know of the dangers of ICE and SPEED so Australia needs to promote clear information to them indicating that these drugs are highly addictive.
More detoxification & rehabilitation that gets illicit drug users drug free.
Court ordered and supervised detoxification & rehabilitation.
Less illicit drug users, drug pushers and drug related crimes.
