DRUG ADVISORY COUNCIL COMMENTS-

Australians DO NOT support illicit drug use even for cannabis the most widely used illicit drug.

Whilst heroin was of most concern to Australians, the other drugs like cannabis, amphetamines and ecstasy are more widely used.

The reason that Australians have a lower concern about more widely used illicit drugs is because the harmful effects of these other drugs is not widely known.

Cannabis, amphetamines and ecstasy all are mind altering narcotics that cause death, permanent disability or shortened lives.

THE DRUG ADVISORY COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA SUPPORTS-

More detoxification & rehabilitation that gets illicit drug users drug free.
Court ordered and supervised detoxification & rehabilitation.
Less illicit drug users, drug pushers and drug related crimes.
