Teach children to say no

Sweden has a restrictive drug policy based on preventing children from trying drugs.

In Sweden all political parties agree that -

  1. The objective of all Government policies must be a drug free society
  2. Parents are the best educators and can teach their children to say no to all drugs better than anyone
  3. The Government must help parents to teach their children by funding positive parent support programs against any use of drugs
  4. Schools must teach students to say no to drugs, from commencement to end of schooling, in an identical way to parents
  5. Government education policies must teach students to resist peer pressure in every subject in the curriculum
  6. Teachers must be trained to teach students to develop attitudes that are opposed to any drug use
  7. Schools must teach that all illegal drugs are dangerous to health, shorten life or cause death
  8. Schools in cooperation with parents, must provide positive programs to detoxify and effectively rehabilitate students who are drug users
  9. In Sweden only 6% of females and 9% of males in the 15 - 25 age group have ever tried illegal drugs, in Australia it is 52%
