INJECTING ROOMS MEANS LEGALISED HEROIN

 

By opening injecting rooms heroin will be legalized.

 

Because addicts who use injecting rooms will buy their heroin from drug pushers, then injecting rooms will mean legalized drug pushing.

 

Injecting rooms will cater for B. Y. O. heroin just like restaurants cater for B. Y. O. alcohol.

 

Legalized heroin will lead to more addicts just like legalized alcohol led to more alcoholics and legalized cigarettes led to more nicotine addicts.

 

Legal alcohol and nicotine cost our community millions of dollars in health and social costs so also will legalized heroin.

 

Legalized drug pushing will mean pushers become rich while more addicts die.

 

Police will not touch drug pushers near injecting rooms.

 

Courts will not convict or punish drug pushers near injecting rooms.

 

Government experts admit heroin deaths will increase even with injecting rooms, as 85% of heroin deaths in Victoria between 1997 & 1999 were in a private home.

 

Heroin deaths will increase because between 1997 & 1999 in Victoria, 93% of addicts who died used another drug as well.

 Less addicts

Less drug pushers

Less drug related crime

Drug pushing & drug use must remain illegal

Taxes for injecting rooms must be used for detoxification & rehabilitation

Detoxification & rehabilitation must be court ordered

Drug centers must get addicts drug free
